the Future of Shopping

So I came across this the other day and just had to fun and easy would this make shopping??!! Especially ONLINE shopping!!

How many times have you ordered something thinking it looked SO GREAT on the website, yet only to be disappointed when you put it on. So enjoy this quick video--it's so fun and great to think about.... I wonder how long it will be until it's a reality??!!

And until then, I will still be one who orders and returns, even when I do lose out with those shipping costs...BUT sometimes it's worth it when you find that "gem" of an item you've been dying to own!!!

Why we LOVE...

...TARGET!!! This is the second in a new series of our "LOVES" and why it is we love them so much. For those of you living under a rock, Target is a value-priced mass retailer that has managed to climb above competitors with their brand appeal and innovative designer collaborations. Although you can literally get ANYTHING at Target, below are some of my favorite departments that always deserve a little walk-thru every visit...

~Clothing & Accessories~

I will always remember Target as one of the first mass merchants to collaborate with Designers and bring affordable fashion to everyone. Here are some upcoming collections to look forward to:
  • March - In celebration of 5 years of GO International, Target will be bringing back 34 dresses from 17 of the past favorite designers. Some of the designers included will be Zac Posen, Tucker, Jovovich-Hawk, Erin Fetherston and Paul & Joe. Check it out, both in stores and online starting March 13!!

  • May - The next major collection will be...Calypso St. Barth. For those of you who haven't heard of it, Calypso is a sophisticated hobo-chic line that is geared towards women (aged 35-45) who summer in the Hamptons or St. Barth's. The Target line will include clothing and accessories for women & children, plus home goods. This new addition is scheduled to hit stores & the internet on May 1st.

~Home Goods~

Speaking of Home Goods....below are 2 new Home Collections that I am LOVING!!

The crisp, classic, blue & white speaks perfectly to my nautical side....have I mentioned lately how much I am obsessed with Navy?? The below collection totally embodies how I would decorate my beach cottage in the Hamptons...or maybe just my living room for a few months to brighten the dreary winter days.

Whereas the Soft Global Collection looks so soothing and earthy... it would also be a great way to spice up my house in anticipation of Spring! The yellows and reds are perfect together and I am always a sucker for beautifully patterned pillows.

~Cards & Stationary~

Even if I don't have a card to buy for anyone in particular, I just LOVE browsing the stationary & office supply section. Target just launched a new collection by Erin Condren. She has the CUTEST planners, note cards, gift stickers & calendars ...check them out in stores NOW!

I could go on forever about all the AMAZING things that Target has to offer...instead I would recommend that you just go & check it out for yourself!!

Happy Shopping =)

Local Accessories Designer we LOVE: NELLE

Finding that perfect handbag can often be a total challenge. Whether you know the exact price-point, style, color, and fabric you are hunting for, or you have no idea--it doesn't seem to matter, there are times when you just can't find the perfect one.

We are lucky to have SO many fabulous local designers here in the Twin Cities. From accessories, to handbags, to casual styles, and even wedding gowns--we have many talented people! NELLE is one of these amazing local brands. Laura Nelli is the brains behind this accessories line, and I can't say enough great things about her. She not only is talented, but also a wonderful and amazing woman. Here is a little bit about how she began her business taken right from her website:

In 2004, with no more sewing experience than a pillow she had constructed in home economics class, Laura Nelli, with a load of determination, a used sewing machine, and a library card, set out to learn the art of handbag design.

Her handbags, clutches, and accessories are available for purchase online and in several boutiques (30+) across the country. With price-points ranging from $60-$190, her products are well worth the investment, as they are hand-crafted and one-of-a-kind. I know that when I leave my house carrying one of my NELLE pieces no one will have the same one. Being unique is so much more fun than joining the crowd and carrying the same LV bag that your best friend has!! I ordered her HAROLD chevron bag (pictured above right) for "Christmas" and I totally and completely LOVE IT! It is a perfect size to hold everything I need and is easy and comfortable to carry. I have received TONS of compliments on it already.

And, because she was SO KIND, and I told her not to rush on getting it sent to me by Christmas, she sent one of her AMAZING clutches along with it!! It is perfect, as it is the colors for my wedding....ivory paired with black & brown! (pictured left) It couldn't be more perfect, and she couldn't have been a kinder soul to work with!

So....if you are searching for that "perfect" handbag, need a new clutch for the new year, or a gift for your sister, check out her website or find her at any of these MN locations:
Flutter Boutique-Minneapolis, Smart & Chic-Minneapolis, Picky Girl-St. Paul, Waters of Superior-Duluth.

You will not be disappointed!

Lace LOVE...

Speaking of LACE, I just had to share these with you....

These boots are "Deborah Lace" by FRYE, and they are completely & totally FABULOUS!!

I wish I had the $ to add these to my closet, but at the moment, they will remain on the wishlist....but I will watch them to see if they ever go on sale, and then they might just have to be mine!

I've written about FRYE boots before, in
this post, and can't say enough great things about them...they are amazing! This new style is perfect for spring and what we are seeing with LACE!! You can find them at piperlime in this sand color (pictured above) or at revolve clothing in two colors: charcoal or sand. Both of which are equally fabulous, but I think I tend to lean towards the SAND color...which do you prefer? Do you own a pair of FRYEs?? If not, I would say this is a GREAT pair to start with!!
